Xantia roll control

Post by Phil Austin »

With reference to Xantia suspension, I have read the message board extensively but cannot see anything directly relating to my prob.
I have recently changed all 5 spheres and had the rear trailing arm bearings replaced and all was fine for a fortnight,, then the following hapened.
As I was turning right onto a car park entrance ramp, a loud bang came from the front of the car. At first I thought I had run over a manhole cover or similar, but on looking there was nothing there. When I drove the car away later, the ride quality had gone haywire and there seemed to be no roll control at all. The car leaned and wallowed like a 2CV.
At first I thought Id broken a roll bar but they seem to be OK. Im now resigned to the thought that something has siezed, but what? Any ideas?

It isnt anything broken, it seems to be a seized front hieght corrector.
I gave it a good spray of WD40 at theh w/e and its definately better. I cant get my head around why though or the control it gives to roll forces.
Any theory out there?
