If you happen to be in London, then maybe this is worth considering as a fun addition to a day out. This is because you can enjoy the sights of the capital city on land, and from the Thames, taking

pictures of the sights, and other tourists as they see you cruising around in an amphibious vehicle.

But its not the original! I think the first was either the one in Dublin or the Viking tours one in Sheffield?
Liverpool has had 'Duck Tours' for years (at least 5). The boats them selves are very impressive, and you sit higher than a coach so you get a very different view of driving around. The best bit is when its in the water, it's like a BX with shot spheres and yaws side to side in the water! Beastly engined machines but i dont know how they pass the emmisions test!
WELL worth a trip on it in places you've been lots of times before as it gives an interesting view and usually you get to see things a normal tour wouldn't show you!

Pleased to see you like the idea vanny, thanks for the information about Liverpool, Sheffield, and Dublin. I would certainly like to take a "Duck Tour" when I visit these cities. Do you have any additional information on these other tours ?

in liverpool there the 'Yellow Duck Marine', cant think why that might be [;)]
Have a look at the website and there is a big section of how they start life. The weirdest thing is they are registered with the DVLA as a bus and with the Docks and Harbours as a boat. They also have two steering wheels, left hand for on land driving, right hand for water!

Whats amazing is that these are all 2nd world war machines - in fact based on a GM truck. I remember in about 1970 an Army mechanic explaining that the Army had been cannibalising them for years as they rusted out - and here they are still in commercial use!
