Looking for a superb late Xantia TD, or might look at clean faulty diesel.
Thanks
John.

Hi john, a fair few on ebay with or without dodgy h/gaskets... worth a look at least if you know about these cars... a superb late one won't cost you the earth from a dealer ! They're becoming a bit unloved by those that don't know any better.. Martin

If u got a pre 98 model the insurance is group 9, 98 onwards is group 12 due to the extra air bags and colour coded bumpers and mirrors, well thats the lame excuse i got from the insurance company i use

Its worth getting a few quotes, some insurance companies don't take that much notice of the groups system and will quote based on their own experience of claims for a particular model, rather than its group.

agreed, groups are certainly not the be all and end all when it comes to insurance. I found that there was no difference between insureing a group 7 renault 19 and a group 5 escort when I bought my first car. Needless to say I bought the renault!!

Trouble is it can work the other way sometimes, when I bought my first BX it was supposedly the same group as the Fiat I'd owned previously. The insurance co. however put my premiums up by £150 a year. When I asked why, the woman at the call centre said "It'll be because its the RS version, have you tried a hot-hatch specialist insurer?" ! [:(!]
I tried to explain that RS was just a trim type RE,RS,TRS etc and nothing to do with Rallye Sport, but she was having none of it!
