Xantia heater console?

Got a day off tommorow so time to change the accum sphere,
Can anyone give me any tips on taking out the heater control panel please, need to change the bulbs (how many?) and see why the recirculation slider won't move.
I have got to put a stereo adaptor in so i'll have to take the front trim off but i'm a bit stuck after that.

Secret is to remove the two screws hidden in the ashtray opening and then rotate gently, freeing off the side clips as you go, the trim surrounding the controls and radio.
Remove the heater sliders by undoing the screws hidden behind them and it is all easier if the radio is removed too.
The common problem with the heater sliders is bent control cables caused by over enthusiastic use. You treat them with more respect once you have done this job a couple of times. Take the trouble to get the wires as straight as possible and lubricate them with silicone rubber and plastic spray. Not WD 40 or oil.

Remove the facia panel by undoing the two torx screws underneath by the ashtray, which will reveal the two heater panel securing screws.
Its then a case of wiggling the heater panel enough to get the black plastic bulb holder out, which can be a little tricky/frustrating. There are two small bulbs in there which are 'capped', not sure of the bulb number.
You may find, as I have several times that the bulbs are OK, but just suffering from a poor connection.

Is it possible to see how the slider is working? It feels like something is jamming the slider, something flexible

My recirculating air slider doesn`t work.The cable that attaches to the heater unit is bent at the end.So when you try to move the r/air slider,all that is happening isthe cable is bending.I did think about getting some small bore rubber tubing,like w/screen washer tubing,cutting down the middle,sliding it over the cable & wrap some tape around it.As if i hold the r/air cable to stop it from bending,it works perfectly.Might be a bit more easy than changing it & feeding a new cable through.

The 2 capped bulbs behind the heater control panel are type 12V 1.2W PCB, they are not the same as the 'plug in' type instrument panel lamps
