New Xant!!!!!!!

Post by paranoid »

Picked up the new Xant this morning given it a thorough thrashing (needed an italian badly) went through the history and it needs next to nothing, all the dash lights work, just going to change the anti freeze for peace of mind.
Oh and it needs an accumalator sphere judging by the brakes (very on/off clicking too regularly)
Can anyone help on the following points......
outside temp gauge is reading in the 40's Centigrade any quick fixes ?
Air recirculation slider won't really move, feels like its about to snap, is it easy to take out the heater control panel as I don't fancy any major jobs (still stiff after prang)

74,000 is a bit early for the bearings to go, are you 'looking' for problems?
Its not too bad a job to do if it is needed.

It's done 88'000 that was my old xant, RIP must change signature[:I]
Well I suppose so, I like to get my cars tip top nick, like to get myself a little list together saves me from buying a project car[:D]
Trouble is this one really don't need much.
It's got (supported by bills)
4 tyres
4 recent spheres (very squashy)
complete new exhaust with cat
Cambelt + Tensioners X 2 [?] Long story !!!!!!!
pads and discs all round
hydraflush and refill
glowplugs all in the last 2 1/2 years
full service every 6000 miles
It needs....
Accum sphere
multichanger possibly, last owner had it taken out of boot and didn't notice for 6 months[?] will probably put my own head unit back in.
Anti freeze for peace of mind
possible rear arm bearings if i'm bored[;)]
