Xantia 1.9td insurance

Can anyone tell me the differences between a 97 1.9 td lx (old shape)
and a 98 1.9td sensation (new shape)
Just put the new xant (sensation) on cover for tomorrow and its £170 more a year [:0]
I have tried many companys and i'm getting the same sort of increase between the two cars, is it just because its a newer shape is there any extra's I didn't notice?
IT'S NOT A NICE SHOCK[:(!]

The insurance groups skyrocketed at some point around the time of the facelift.
My '97 is substantially more expensive to insure than the '95 for some not unrelated reason.

I believe that the coloured bumpers of the series 2 shape added a couple of groups to insurance ratings.
