406 - Where is the central door locking sensor?

Can anyone please tell me where the remote sensor is to the central door locking? I have a T reg 406 LX and the central door locking system is very intermittent and it's definately not the key batteries. I have been told it's located in the roof space above the mirror but it's not as there is only the light and arial connection!
If anyone can also help with any advice on an intermittent rev counter as well, is there any quick checks or known problem?

Hi
The sensor / aerial unit for the RF keyfobs is located behind the glovebox.
Some very early 406 L & LX had the infra red remotes & the sensor unit for these was in the roof consoul.

it is not the sensor.It is the relay or ecu located under the glovebox to the left.
