I've taken my 206 to have it's annual service done and they have reported that the clutch release bearings have gone and the clutch needs replacing. There is a noise from my 206 when the car is in nuetral and the clutch pedal is up.
I've since gone with the dealers advice in that the clutch needed replacing.
However, I have had the clutch replaced by a firm of 'nationwide' mechanics and they have cited the gearbox as the source of the problem (T reg 206 XS with 43K on the clock!!).
I have since got the car back and the noise is still there. Furthermore, when changing gear the gearbox feels more 'notchy' and now have probs getting into first gear when the vehicle is moving[:(!].
I don't know whether I should take the car back to the place that did the clutch, or trust the dealer to put it right(£££)? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
