Post by ActivaV6uk »

Ok so I've put the engine back togther now and I have the entire loom worked out to what every wire does. next I will re-wire it whe I have the engine back in the car (tuesday with any luck).
i have found another problem though the loom has 3 imobiliser wires 1 to the heater relay 2 to the ecu. has any one got the security info for a 406 by any chance? as with out it i'm going to have fun...

You probably know about this site which inter alia has a number of wiring diagrams. (original reference may have been supplied by you!)
They show diagram for 806/expert with bosch electronic diesel injection.

Its the 2.1 I’ve got the HDi in bits if you want pictures...
Thanks for the support and comments guys, the last few months have been pretty hard as it looks like I will be redundant soon (expect to be handing my CV into out favourite car part supplier soon). Also I have spent about 10 solid days working on the house moving a wall in the bathroom 2 foot and fitting a bath! so have to say at the best of times I’m now getting very tired.
The autodata info I have managed to get has been a godsend with this project, I have to be careful how much info i give out and make sure that I’m not abusing there intellectual property but I'm going to try and pass as much useful info on settings for the Xantia as I can (this is ware the how to set up a Xantia’s suspension came from) I have every single Xantia wiring diagram at my disposal so if any one needs anything just ask (that’s ware the Air Con info came from :))
Power to the people that’s what I say!

lol thats what i'm hoping, however we have found from owning an activa that the suspension system adds a real sense of safty to every day driving so my atitude is that if the car doesnt have the power to be "sports" oriontated its still going to be a great car for day to day use! :)
Wate if you fancy a trip up to the Stratford upon Avon area some time i'm sure i can let you borrow the keys for a while :)

I take it not all of these engines were 12 valve then, was it just the later ones? Its amazing how the HDi (DW10) engine is a cross breed between the 1.9 and 2.1 XUD's, the head castings look very similar to the 2.1 and the bottom end 1.9!!
The HDi head pics would be cool if you have them, I've never seen one of these in bits and it would be interesting, cheers [:D]
