C4 ... is it that good?
While looking at the Times newspaper's website, I noticed that Jeremy Clarkson seems to be very favourably impressed with the Citroen C4.... which made me wonder (not having tried one out yet) could it really be good enough to be a new ZX?

Have tried one. Great looks. Really sophisticated and innovative. Handling is good and quite enjoyable. [:)]
Must be hard to beat on its class.
Only have a negative note on the comfort side - was it made by the creators of the DS?! [V] Much harder than my Xantia, and other HP citroens I've driven before.

Indeed, better than Xantia by far (though to be fair the Xantia scored equal to most cars around that time..) and also better than C3 and C2 and 2001 model C5. Still has the usual minor issues on Legs, perhaps in future models Citroen will solve this or it'll just get better when Drive by wire gets more common in cars..
And as a part time Pedestrian, nice to see such a high score on that front..

What do you mean? Not in Ncap results.. Nothing has yet scored 100% 100% afaik, pleanty have scored 100% 94% or vice versa(which was the C5s result on frontal and side impacts..).
Plus you pay for the added size (and uglyness.. :p) of the C5. £14,995 OTR to £22,495 OTR when compared with the Citroen C4s £11,095 OTR to £18,395 OTR†.
Smaller cars will generally never be able to be quite as safe as something bigger than them.. But I'd say the C4 is infact safer than the C5, when you check it's score for both pedestrians and children it's much safer and with similar safety systems they're pretty much equal..
Would still go for C4...
