This little beauty blew on my Volcane at the weekend. Brittle with age I guess. Its the double pipe that connects at bulkhead to heater matrix with a big square connection, and then goes down the back of the engine and underneath. The other end goes round the top of the engine to the n/s.
Anyway, I got the damn thing off after hours of fiddling around with the bottom connection. Citroen charged me £98(!!!) for the replacement.
Now I gotta fit it. The bottom connection is a pain. I can only reach it by removing o/s wheel, up on axle stands and reach in between all the suspension, steering, etc. I don't think I'm going to be able to get enough purchase to push the pipe on.
I only have axle stands, the jack that comes with the car, and only a car park in which to do the work.
Anyone got any ideas or fitted one of these before?
Or even a good way to fit these sorts of hoses in awkward spots? Can I heat the end of the pipe to expand it or something, just to get it over the connection?
Cheers
