In the case of the forum, you must load them onto a website and then link them across.
The website/board can't be a Yahoo as it will only be seen by any other member of that site.
As far as Avatar goes, I don't have one so I can't say but I'd imagine a similar situation would occur.
A word to the wise about this, in particular avatars, keep them small as they take up heaps of bandwidth due to appearing on every posting you've ever made (in my case about 100+ of them) with the result it can slow the board down overall, which in my case on an antiquated dial up service attached to an antiquated phone service (as installed by Captain Cook I think) means I have to wait for ages for things to load; very annoying!!

Hi Simon,

Pics - go to http://photobucket.com sign up its free, upload your photo. When you get the thumbnail on screen you will have under it the picture's url. You can then cut and paste the IMG to the message

I have used www.imageshack.us for free web-hosting of photos. Use "forum 1" images for this site (not thumbnail option tho')

It shouldn't matter how many posts you have made. The image should only be downloaded at most once per browser session or if you force a full refresh (CTRL+F5).
So showing the same avatar 100 times uses the same bandwidth as showing it once.
Still helps if you keep them small.
I'm not on dialup but I often turn off avatars and signatures because they attract too much attention when I'm pretending to work.

You have some spurious characters on the end of your URL, it should be
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v668/ ... ormale.bmp
it is
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v668/ ... %5B/IMG%5D
I guess the spurious characters belong to a [/IMG] tag.

I've fixed it for you. You need to put the tags [ img]link goes here [/img] so that it works.
Linking to other sites for signatures is not a problem for me as they don't cost me bandwidth. As long as they are not any bigger than mine they should not cause any members problems (I'm writing this on a 5 year old HP Brio 400mhz dialling up through a modem and everything is fine with regards the Forum and sigs, as you may guess I'm not at home).[:)]
