ABS sensors - 405.

Post by dvhttn »

Hi,
Powerlee suggested (in another thread) that going to Bosch would be a better bet than Peugeot for an ABS sensor (rear wheel of Pug 405). Phoned Pug and they said £138 + VAT .... needless to say I didn't order straight away ... :-(
Does anyone know if these sensors are used on other cars, maybe the 406?
If it makes any difference the ABS setup is the Bendix 'Additional' ABS ...
Thanks

OK. Just checked my friendly Pug parts CD. Rear sensor on a 405 is 4545-14. On a 406 it is 4545-49. Anyone know the difference? Would they swap? They look the same physically ...

You have to be sure that there is the correct number of teeth on the ring. Bosch ABS uses quite large teeth on it's abs rings, wheras Bendix ABS has very fine ones. I think the difference is 24 teeth or 90 teeth (something like that anyway) I almost made this mistake with a 405 driveshaft from a scrappie.

Would anyone have the Bosch and Bendix parts numbers for the sensors? I need to get a new one but need the part numbers rather than car type.
