I am just about to buy a 2001 Xantia HDi 110 after years of good service from my 405 T-D (see 'For Sale' forum).
Anyone got any tips as to what I should look for before handing over the cash? I've checked the obvious like history (fleet car, so religious servicing), no accidents, panel-fit etc.
Any help appreciated.

The usual hydraulic thingys:
Sit on each corner and see if it sinks some 4 inches or so. If it's hard the spheres are shot. It should also rise to it's normal height with your weight during the test.
Listen to the click from the PR. Less tahn 20s, needs a new acc sphere.
I think it's about all, at least some o f the important bits...

Yes, if it's a hydractive example, even for the bounce test the engine should be running, otherwise it's likely to go into "hard" mode on you in mid-test, and you'll not hear it do so if you're out in trhe open. Also, you'll want to see if the car jacks itself up again after being sat on, and you need the engine running for that with any sort of Xantia...
