I have been looking at the highlights of the W.R.C. Corona Rally in Mexico. Well done to Sebastien Loeb, the reigning World Rally Champion for managing to make his way back up from 18th place to 4th place. [:D]
He managed to do this despite his W.R.C. Xsara having a major accident, which left the O/S/R wheel and suspension completely smashed up with parts everywhere. The car was dragging along the ground with major bodywork damage to the O/S/R, and was stopped by the police on a main road in Mexico, where the car was amongst other traffic trying to get to the end of the stage. As it was they were lucky to keep it going, but the funny bit was seeing the co-driver/navigator hanging far out of the car like a yachtsman would hang off their yacht. His efforts ensured that more weight was on the N/S, and helped the car to continue, along with its four wheel drive.
The police showed understanding, and escorted the damaged car along the public road. With the car subsequently repaired, he managed to work his way back up the leader board, helped by several others dropping out, and his determination to overtake those that had managed to get past him after the bad accident.
