I hate my AX

Post by martyhopkirk »

Sorry - I know there are plenty of lovers of this car out there, but I really hate my AX. Its not the size, its just harsh to drive, has seats which offer bog all suport or comfort and since buying it has had more bits drop off than my first car (an Austin 1300).

Its got to go.

Get a BX instead.
What about an XM?
Or how about a Xantia?
Or perhaps a ZX?

Got a Xantia - wife doesnt want me to use it for work as it will
a) rack up a big millage.
b) get trashed by my patients.
Just went to look at an 1800 Xantia LX parked opposite - L plate, nice and clean, but selelr wants £1650
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After I had picked myself up off the floor........
Bought an AutoTrader this lunchtime - considering either a Pug 406 or Xantia, gotta get rid of this AX.

I hate driving my girlfriends AX. I'm either hitting the brake instead of the clutch or banging my head on the roof. Still, it's better than a Beetle and I have enough cars of my own!

Marty you were talking about a BX before if memory serves. There's a thread elsewhere detailing this car: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 28622&rd=1
It looks like a real minter and it can't go for more than £500 surely?

Interesting that the white turbo one seems to be attracting some interest and money. Perhaps I'll get my £550 back for my TD estate eventually - wonder how much a respray would cost?
I even saw a French registered white estate driving round Southampton the other day - there are 4 in my road (admittedly long) in regular use (2 estates, 1 TD saloon and a 16) and several others.

You could be right[:p]
I like it cos its a Mk1, which are getting rare now. The interior is a hoot, think Legoland and you are close to what the dash board looks like. Or maybe I'm just strange in the head.........[:0]

I suppose if it wasn't in Surrey I would give it a go. The vendor of the local flat petrol BX still wants nearly a ton for it.
Think a BX , Xantia or 405/6 would do for me for work. The AX is running, but now emmiting a strange "clang" under hard lock at low speed, I can feel it through the steering wheel too.
eBay has a lot to answer for, my £500 bargain AX, isnt at all (a bargain).
Still had to laugh at the vendor who wanted £1650 for an L plate Xantia. The world loves a tryer.
