Stereo Removal Tips for a 95 AX 1.0?

Post by davidmbell »

Does anyone know you to remove the standard fit stereo from a 1995 AX. Its the shaped to the dash one as per most low spec mkII's.
Haynes says there is a slot for a special tool, I can't find a slot anywhere.
Ive seen that there is a nut underneath the volume/tone control once they're removed is that where I should be heading?
PM to keep this info out of the public domain.
Cheers
David

I think if you have a search, this is a fairly common thread. I'm sure the last one I saw was related to the AX too.

If they use the same mechanism as the Peugeot 106, then yes two thin pieces of metal to slide down each side. Peugeot dealers have them, and they are shaped. Think there is a pic in the Haynes book. Buy an oiler filter at the dealer and slip it in to conversation he might come and stick his bits in it for you free.
