New Car

Unread post by Gregg1100 »

Hi All,
I changed the inlet manifold gasket today. I found it had blown in two seperate places. It was a bit of a potch trying to scrape old gasket from manifold, especially as I hadn`t removed the manifold from car, just pulled it back away from head, with all injector bits still attached.
RESULT. I am now a happy bunny. Car pulls strongly, with NO jerking and idles as it should, when coming to a stop. Basically spent out unnecessarily for a stepper motor and potentiometer, but they can be put away for spares
Thanks to all the people who have helped me out on this problem.
Regards,
Greg<font face="Comic Sans MS"></font id="Comic Sans MS"><font size="3"></font id="size3"><font color="blue"></font id="blue">

<font color="blue"><font size="3"><font face="Comic Sans MS">Hi Richard,
No, don`t tear up cheque. Please send the part.
It took a young man`s ears to tell me that there was an air leak on inlet manifold. I couldn`t hear anything other than noise from the cambelt end, but that doesn`t mean that hissing wasn`t there, lol.
AlanS put his finger on the problem a while back, but cos I couldn`t hear anything, thought that side of it was ok. Thanks Alan.
One for the case history book, I think.
Got to get those alarm sensors now---as the car is now worth nicking [:D]. Thanks again all,
Greg.
Ps. Richard---I have sent you an email to above effect. Thanks</font id="Comic Sans MS"></font id="size3"></font id="blue"><font face="Comic Sans MS"></font id="Comic Sans MS"><font size="3"></font id="size3"><font color="blue"></font id="blue">
