ACTIVA DIESEL

Post by ACTIVE8 »

An Activa with a diesel engine ! [:D] [8D]
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... eName=WD2V
Pity the car is so far away though, it's in Italy ! [:(]
Although it's obviously left-hand drive, I would still have it ! [:)]
Why did Citroen not release the diesel Activa here [?]

Nice, i'm suprised its the 2.1td though, i'd have thought that would have been a bit heavy for the activa,
I think the reason we didnt get the rhd activa diesels was something to do with the rams getting in the way of the pedals during the conversion to rhd

It's been bid on currently by someone in Italy, another from France, and somebody in Greece.
It's very tempting, I wonder if somebody from the U.K. will bid on it !
I would certainly have it, if I didn't already have one already ! [:D]
The L.H.D. wouldn't be a problem, and the 2.1 litre turbo diesel would be so much more economical, compared to the 2.0 litre petrol turbo, and would save the hassle of having to convert one to diesel to get much better fuel consumption !

The main extra rams for the Activa are on the N/S/F suspension, and on the O/S/R suspension.
So, it shouldn't have been a problem to build it in right hand drive.
I accept the point about the engine being heavier, but surely unlike a car with normal springs etc, the Citroen suspension compensates for that on any Xantia, so it shouldn't be a problem for the Xantia Activa.

Will it stay in Italy !
Or will it return to France. [:D]
Maybe it will go to Germany or Greece, because bids are coming in from several different countries, but nobody from the U.K. has bid yet ! [:D]

If it was a bit nearer I'd have a go at it.

Well the car seems to have doubled in price, and with the amount of Italian bids looks likely to stay in Italy.
If I didn't already have an Activa, I would certainly have this !
Surely this would be a rare car here, I.E. the only left hand drive diesel Xantia Activa in the U.K. [:D]

Blimey at £3150 currently with a day and a half to go, somebody seriously wants this car, and compared to what the bids were like previously it's really jumped up now.

Well the auction ended, & the reserve wasn't met!
At the end of the auction 5,050 Euros or £3,529.82 was the final bid.
Although it's rare, surely the seller is expecting too much !
As his reserve could be a lot more than this.
