Xantia handbrake cable

Just changed my R/H handbrake cable... Don't want to do that again in a hurry! Wish I'd bought the pair and done them both at the same time. If one of yours goes, in my (humble) opinion you should do the pair and be done with it !! ( I don't have ramps or a workshop, and I got filthy!!! )

Mine was an MOT failure a couple of years ago, so had to do it same day for retest. Ramps/pits or axel stands next time! [:p]

what's that plastic guide thing all about. I tried to fit that darn cable it took me about 3 hours only to discover hat the plastic guide was broke ( you can't see it due to the exhaust cover). Got a packet of 4 from the dealer for a couple of quid. done the other side as well only to discover (after I had put everything back together) that I hadn't put the cable through all the guide rings.ahhhh.

xantia handbrake cables are a piece of cake no matter what ramp you have. five minutes tops each side - cut the end off the inner cable, pull the outer bit off and wiggle the inner bit free from its hole, feed the new cable through the rings, white end driver side bottom hole, black end passenger side top hole.
then wiggle it back in.

Made'em 20 years ago Richard, 6ft long with a 2ft lift, makes fitting your own exhausts, towbars and the like an absolute doddle, I can sit on me arse under the engine and not have to grovel about too much.

Also the green Xantia looks good, with the different wheel rims on it !
