key fob remote change

hi guys got a 96 laguna rn 2.2 diesel. the fob/blip key has packed up .got the manual over ride code from renualt dealer. just bought complete lock set fob/blip key and reciever(the one in the roof) could i just swop fob and fit matching reciever and it would work ok? can this be done ? please [:D]

does the car have an immobiliser and if it does is their any codes that have to be entered by the driver?
if not the ecu may be coded to the key in which case the keys would need programmed to the ecu,you would be looking at around 150 pounds from renault.

the car has an imobliser.but i have to enter a code on the central locking button on the centre console. what a ecu? is there any other way? thanx m8

if your immobiliser is operated from a seprerate place as you say their shouldnt be a problem with doing what you say.
