Generally the estates had bigger calipers than the hatches, but there are 3 different size of front disc, 266mm, 283mm and 288mm available and calipers to match. My '95 Xantia has the 266mm these are ONLY found on the smaller engined hatches (generally 1.6 / 1.8 / 2.0 8v / 1.9D / 1.9TD with exceptions). Citroen changed what size discs various engines got, my '97 Xantia has the 283mm front discs.
The smallest discs an estate will have are the 283mm ones, I'd expect your estate to have these discs UNLESS its a 2.0 Turbo, HDI 110, 2.1TD or 3.0 V6, in which case it will have the bigger 288mm discs. To confuse matters further, the automatics seem to get the bigger discs too.
In short, not all Xantias have the same size calipers and it is possible to find a hatch with the same calipers as the estate but not every Xantia will have the right sized calipers.
