hi
i run a mercedes e240 and converted to lpg 2 yrs ago, best thing ever. you need to get a sequential system which means an injector in each cylinder, do not go for a system which feeds gas into air intake. conversion will probably pay for itself within 18mths on that car depending on cost and mileage. you will need to find a supplier which has a kit for that particular engine.
cheers

Hi, citroennut.
Thanks for your post.
I have read about GPL in the last week.
My particular dificulty is that i don´t know anyone with a C5 with a GPL Kit.
And because of that i´ve not yet decide if it is a good idea.
That´s why i wrote this topic.
Cheers

Bem Vindo[;)]
João, even though i said i knew no-one who had done this, it doesn't mean it can't be done.
The C5 engine is the same as the one in MKII Xantiae, maybe one of our fellas has one and may be of help.
With petrol costs in Portugal at around €1,10/L, LPG is very economical.
João, check Guia do Automóvel, they use to have some LPG companies on the adverts.
Check www.fonsecautos.pt and give them a call. Who knows?
Cheers!
Francisco
BTW, read the forum. This is one great place to learn!

Thanks.

João,
just a quick note: this forum is said to be plain english due to it's universality, so we'll have to stick to short sentences in our language[;)]
I don't know the fellow you mention, but perhaps a salesman from citroën i know might.
Have you seached for installers? I would go for one that is either an importer or a trusty representative.
You could also try to find a Xantia owner, with a later generation Xantia - or a Picasso (the first one with this new engine) - since the engine is the same.
Bom fds!

Just to let the english readers of this forum know the rough translation of this --->
Soube que há um Citroen C5 a GPL, do qual é proprietário um Sr. da zona do Montijo (em Portugal, claro).
Conhece?
É que eu gostava de trocar impressões com alguém que tenha um carro como o meu, com GPL já instalado.
is this --->
It knew that it has a Citroen C5 the GPL, of which is proprietor Mr.
of the zone of the Montijo (in Portugal, clearly).
It knows?
He is that I liked to change printings with that has a carriage as
mine, with installed GPL already.

crapday, i'll tranlate it properly.
"I'm aware of a C5 installed with LPG, whose owner lives in the Montijo area(in Portugal, of course).
Do you know him?
It's that I would like to talk with someone who has a similar car to mine, with LPG already fitted."
So, don't worry guys, we weren't saying bad things about the forum[:D]

The engine is the same as the one in C5.
I have a 1.8 petrol C5, and i want to install a LPG kit, and i don´t know if it is a god idea.
Tanks.
