406 Radio changed, beeping, - code needed?

Post by jet_andy »

I have just replaced the Clarion radio in my 406 coupe. The old one packed up amd I bought a second hand one from an online breaker. It works fine, but there is a permanent regular 'beep' every few seconds in the background, no matter if on radio or cd. Is this some kind of anti-theft thing, do I need a code to stop it, or visit a dealer to have it 'matched' to the car??

Hi
Yes this is the anti theft thing cutting in, You need the help of either a Peugeot dealer or a car radio decoding place with the right software.
The radios are coded to the VIN number of the car at the factory.
