Xsara heater matrix

Unread post by JohnD »

It was a shock to get a text from daughter telling me that steam was pouring from her air vents on her 29000 mile Xsara. Even worse when I recalled that I talked her in to letting me do the two year service instead of going back to Citroen Tanfield. But the good news is that the dealer is fitting a new matrix under warranty.

Hey that can't be. A main Citroen dealer doing a job under warranty no questions asked. Did you tell him you'd serviced it????
Sligh old devil.

I had thoaght a new law had come out where you can service a car to manufactures spec and stamp the book , with out invalidating the warrenty. As long as you use main dealer parts . It was brought in to make dealers lower costs per hour . But I have a funny feeling parts will become dearer to compansate them.

Although I did the 24K service (with GSF parts), I think she told them she´d had it serviced when she was abroad. Tanfield said that´s OK, the dodgy matrix wouldn´t have shown even if they had serviced it at 2 years old. Job all done for free, and relief all round.
