XM LCD display

Post by Robin »

Does anyone know if the LCD display on the XM is repairable/prone to faults or a throw away job?
I am thinking of the one on the right hand side that displays the clock and trip computer. Mine has started to fade from the clock end although when in low light mode with the sidelights on it is fine.

The Time/Temp display on the XM is backlit by tiny tiny filament bulb that eventually wear out. It is quite possible to replace them with a steady hand and some some small tools. You can't get the lamps from Citroën - they only want to sell you the whole display - but if you check out Maplin, Radioshack etc för the smallest 12V lamps with wire leads you should be able to find some that fit.
