Hi
Theres loads of alarms out there that control the central locking with there own plips.
Or you can get a Peugeot upgrade kit ( Dont laugh! ) That will even work form you original remote key, Theres a couple of other companys that make these also.
If the car you end up with comes with a infra red plip, Get an alarm fitted that works with its own plip & junk the Peugeot IR plip.
You really need to speak to an independent car alarm fitter to see what would be best for your needs.

im gonna be fitting myself as on a budget
id rather use the pug ir key as its all in one and saves having an extra fob
is there no way to wire it, so the alarm activates / deactivates via the pug plip?

There is a way of using the Pug IR plip.
Either pop down the Pug dealer & get hold of the Defender upgrade kit that uses the cars original plip.
Or try somethink like the AN700

When you get the car have a look & see if the wiring loom is already set up for the factory fit alarm, It might just be a trip down the scrapyard & plug a few bits in.
Peugeot started to only use one body loom design per car model around 94 / 95 to cut down costs, Theres loads of spare plugs on my 405 for things never fitted to a U.K. spec car.

Just look at my siggy! lol
My Pug alarm used to go off when it felt like it, Even when locked in a garage at night.
Peugeot couldnt fix it, So I removed it & replaced it with something slightly better.
