How the blazes do you check the water level on an activa the water bottle is solid black plastic????

There is a white plastic insert (which may be a rusty orange colour) inside the header tank. If you can see water with this white plastic in the tank, there is enough water in. The plastic insert has a cut in the side of it, the bottom of the cut is the "maximum" water level the bottom of the insert is the "minimum" water level.
