Broken Seat question

Hello everybody
this might be a trivial question but this problem is really bloody annoying. Was transporting some stuff in my 1993 citroen zx td today, and had to put the back seats (both) totally down.
when i tried to put them back up using the litte button that you slide across on the top of the seats, the back drivers side went up ok, but the passenger side back is stuck solid, and the button that seems to be on some sort of a spring is now moving freely across , which i think its came of the spring, this is not alloying the seat to come back up into position.
How the hell can this be fixed ?
have been at it for the last 2 hours and got knowere

Had this on my old ZX. Try sitting on the seat to dis-engage it from it's position first. Then see if it'll raise up.

Have already tried that am afraid, but no luck.
Dont know if its possible to be able to take the back section of the *seat* off, to gain some sort of entry to sort the problem.
Any ideas ?

So I guess you've already gone for the jumping on it bit then? If not this may release it.

tried that, and the rest.
Does the back panel come off somehow to allow you entry at all ?
