My mates 205 has a locking problem. Basically the car dirvers door locks fine with they key but not with the alarm. disocnnecting the drivers side allowd the other locks to work.

The car is a 205 GTi 1.6 1990.
I changed the actuators with ones from a scrap car (GSF didn't do them new) - I changed both the drivers and the passengers at the same time.
There is a Bosch alarm fitted which is linked into the central locking and remote activated.
When the drivers side isn't plugged in the boot and passengers side work fine (with the plip) and I lock the door with the key on the drivers side.
When I plug the drivers side in the actuators activate a few times - then the plip only arms and disarms the alarm but doesn't lock or unlock the doors.
The drivers side has a good earth continuity (I checked it against the unused electric window earth in the drivers side door) and a steady 12V supply.
I've taken the lock and handle out and oiled/greased it incase it was this that was sticking.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
