Pollen Filter

Is it neccesary to use it or can it be left removed ?

I take it your Xantia has aircon? If yes, you need it. Here is a picture of one after about 6 months.

Most definately use one. If you get any leaves in the system or other debris you will damage the fan and heater matrix.

I replace mine every 6k miles, that way you catch it before it starts to pong.

How do you remove the pollen filter.
It has most certainly never been changed in mine, and it can stink ....

My C3 pollen filter has been changed on one of the services. I think they are only worth about $15AUD

Shane,
Remove the carpet under the dash in the passneger footwell (4 or 5 screws) then remove the long thin cover under the dash (another 3 screws) then pull the filter out.

But not always. Some slide towards car centre. No screws.

My Xanta has a long thing cover that slides. It takes a rather excessive amount of force to move it, so much force that each time I've removed it I've been sure that it was going to break.
