changing 406 interior - advice please

Post by lesnajair »

Hi all
Does anyone know whether it is possible to swap the interior from a mk2 406 to a mk1 406. I prefer the squarer non-velour seats plus the rear cushion on the drivers seat seems a little too small for my taller frame! It's a 406 estate, by the way!!
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Anything is possible. The best bet is to have a look at a "new" 406 & compare the 2.It would proberly just a case of out with the old,in with the new.But then its french,so.....
Where abouts are you based?Anywhere near Bristol? As my Dad has a 2003 Est.

Hi
I'm in Hastings, East Sussex. I was rather hoping it would be a quick swap job!
Thanks

Remember to swop the seatbelt pretensioners from your original seats on to the new seats.
One plug & one bolt, Dont lose the wavey washer from the mounting bolt, A small amount of threadlock on the bolt would be a good idea too.
Same on the other side for the bottom seatbelt mount, Just the one bolt & wavey washer.
Also threadlock on the bolts that hold the seats down to the body is a good move.
Remember to disconnect the battery FIRST & wait 10 minutes before unpluging the pre tensioners!
