Most modern vehicles have a diagnostic connection point on them.
So I take it my 98/99 Xantia Activa will have one.
Therefore is it possible to investigate more than on a normal Xantia, and check out the electronic control unit on an Activa ?
I am refering to the specific seperate E.C.U. which controls the Activa anti roll system.
If it's possible to do this would an independant specialist have the relevant equipment ?
ACTIVA E.C.U.

Tried Citronome in Derby? I have a feeling they might be able to check the Activa suspension ECU.. I think they can check normal hydractive ECU's. I asked when I thought mine wasn't working - new spheres fixed that!

XM & Xantia Hydractive Suspension
We are fully equipped and experienced in the diagnosis and repair of hydractive supension systems fitted to XM and Xantia VSX and active roll correction systems fitted to Xantia Activa. Briefly, these systems differ from the standard hydro-pneumatic suspension by the presence of an electronic control unit and additional sensors and hydraulic components.

Try giving them a call; perhaps they may be able to give you some hints, or even "test it by post"? I know it might put the car out of action for a few days..
Might be worth getting in touch with ATP Electronics, and see if their Network 500 testers can check the ECU. They have dealers all over the country, and can check engine and transmission ECU's, so MAY be able to check the Cit suspension ones, although their site doesn't say so.
