Cant get the horn...

Post by jpacoupe »

no, I dont want --adware link removed--, I want to know where the horn is on my 96 xantia estate.
its currently about as loud as a mouse's fart and I'd like to change it for something other road users might actually be able to hear.
Can someone tell me where it is and if I'm able to 'upgrade' it?
Thanks

Xantias have 2 horns, one lives in the left had side front wheel arch, where it gets covered in spray and dirt and rusts away. I think its underneath the wheel arch liner.
The second horn is under the front bumper I believe.

Like in the BX then.
My experience from the BX is to leave the old horns where they are, then identify the feed wire, cut it off and pull it back into the engine bay.
Then simply fit a new standard (£8) horn and connect the feed wire.

Hows about the DS, then - that has FOUR. [:D]
Light pull on the stalk, you get one electric horn.
Pull harder, you get the other electric horn and two air horns! [:0][:0]
Lots of dBs !!
