Xantia electric window refitting

Any tips on how to get the circlip fitted to the lifting arm on a Xantia electric window mechanism? I have everything fitted but cannot get the plastic lifter far enough through the glass to fit the locking clip. Anyone done this before and knows how? I wont use the main dealer as they are charging £70 an hour labour!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Make sure the rubber grommit is in the correct place otherwise its very difficult to get the clip on.
You have to squeeze the rubber grommit to get the black plastic square on, it takes a lot of finger strength and the access isnt good.
