my front drivers side wheel is wobbely. I bought a track rod end and just looked at the job properly and found the track rod is fine but the ball joint under the bearing housing has gone. can this be replaced? nd if so what is it called so i can order a new one?

I forgot to say the car is a 94 xantia 1.9 td

Are you describing the ball joint? If you are, then they are in teh online shop:
N42414 BALL JOINT XANTIA 9.50

The balljoint can be replaced, part number N42414 is correct for the Xantia.
The ball joint screws into the bottom of the hub and needs a special socket and an impact wrench (rattle gun) to remove it, so if you don't have access to the tools, this may be best entrusted to a garage.

Hi thanks arry. i just looked but without a picture its difficult to tell!!.
It is a ball joint and its located under the bearing housing. it is on the end of a long mounting rod coming out from near the bulk head

It's cheaper to buy the ball joint and go to a local indy with it - using a pneumatic impact wrench it only takes a minute to change.

The socket can be bought and should cost less than a tenner.
