Here is an interesting one :
When driving the car, sometimes from cold and sometimes even after the engine has been running for a while ( 2 hours motorway driving ), the ECU / engine management light comes on and stays on.
Now If I engage the clutch and coast for 5 secs ( very bad i know ) the warning light goes off. usually this will the stay off. but sometimes after a few more miles it comes back on. At this point I have to engage the clutch, coast AND kill the engine ( Yes i hear you all - very very bad ) 5 secs and then put the key into on position and disengage clutch and it warning light goes off.
I have had the ECU read by thirdparty reputable company in the past and have been informed that the code was inconclusive, but it could possible have something to do with the knock sensor.
I know this is not much information .. But are there any ideas ?
1993 Citroen ZX 2.0L 16V
128K on clock
Recent New clutch.
Forgot to add .... The car seems to stall a bit more often during slow manouvers like, reversing and parking. and it really struggles on a very cold start with slightly elevated petrol fumes.
But once its warmed up there is nothing else to worry about except for the symptoms described above.
Cheers
J.

I currenly buy the BP Ultra from the same station every week as it is on my route to work and occasionally buy opitmax. If i can't find either I get super unleaded.
As for economy ... I got more mpg from my previous car ( VR6 Golf )!!
40 litres every week. I think this is normal as i get the same mpg with my other valver.

Hmmm funny that, my central locking still works but my alarm does not. This is an early 16V, no keypad or imobiliser. Is it costly to get the alarm checked ?
AS for performance, the VR6 would woop the 16v ( with its crappy restricting CVAC breathing system) in the first few gears, initial acceleration. But the top end and handling 16V. MY VR6 had standard suspension so it handled like a boat round corners where as the valver was made for cornering !
Why did'nt citroen put the v6 engine into the valver. smooth v6 with valver handling now that would be something !
