Xsara & Xantia Engine Mount Placement

For those that are familiar with their engine mounts.....
If you replace the one under the battery (transmission mount), how can you be sure you have positioned it in the right place? There are two bolts/screws that hold it in place, but there is a lot of scope for for movement of the amount before tightening it.
I recall reading some time ago about not tightening the bolts/screws up very tight and going for a drive to let the engine settle into place. I'm not sure if this is a proven technique. I wonder what the correct procedure is for correct positioning.

Personally I'd mark out where the old one is before removing it. Use one of those paint pens or a good marker. Then replace in the same place. When I did this mount on my ZX I did as suggested no problems. That was until I found I have the wrong size mount. DOH!!.
