heavy clutch
my 97 xantia td has a heavy clutch.it engages all gears fine and does not judder,is it a matter of just oiling the cable or is my cluth on its way out.

You could try.
The near future will force you to do something, as the cable clip at he pedal dead sure will snap.
It is very rare these days to find the clutch itself at fault. The common first symptom is exactly as you have it now.
The cause is either a dry cable or the release bearing has grooved into the release plate - which means clutch replacing.
