Boot Deadlock

Post by CommY »

Following the discussion about a deadlocked Xantia with a flat battery I tried the boot lock when the car was deadlocked and it opened. Is this as it should be or is this a fault and maybe why my remote locking doesn't work, would this impact at all on the remote system?? BLOODY ELECTRICS!!!!!

Deadlocking is there only to prevent the cabin doors being unlocked by lifting the standard locking button, therefore the boot will not have this facility, no point as there is no keyless method of unlocking it as there is with the cabin doors.

now it all makes sence! I could never see the real point in having a dead lock on a door, but i guess if you smashed a quarter panel you could reach in and pull the button up. Or do the old window and coat hanger trick! Clever!
