central locking

anyone ever replaced the remote control central locking receiver with one from a kit as mine is u/s due to water damage (this thing lives beside the interior light).Citroen want 150quid + vat,a remote control central locking kit can be bought for 27quid + vat.

The recievers often sell on ebay for under a fiver, no one wants them. Plips go for silly money, sometimes more than a complete car!

if its a saxo you have im pretty sure the recevers are coded to the plips so you would also need the plip.i dont think you can re-code a saxo IR plip to a different recever in any conventional way without soldering etc.
