306 XSI "Juddery"

Post by Linchpin »

Hey there :-)
Just wondered, I have a 306 XSI (Preg) 16v lump... Its pretty nippy except when pulling off? Sometimes, when I pull off in 1st its juddery as hell, once the car is moving its fine? Anyone got any ideas? I was thinking maybe dodgy airflow meter cos sometimes the car cant find an idle point and rev's itself up and down around the 1000rpm mark, and sometimes, say if its on a hill, in neutral and stopped, and i let it roll down the hill it rev's up? (without putting in gear or touching throttle!!!)
Cheers

The reason the revs rise when you let it roll down the hill in neutral is because the road speed sensor is sensing the cars moving.
The sensors job is to make the gearchange easier, Nothing to worry about, its ment to do that.
No idea on the dodgy idle problem though?
