GSF advertise Bosch and brembo pads and disk etc , My Citroen xsara 2.0hdi estate old body has LUCAS calipers and pads and disks. SO what makes Can i fit? bearing in mind, that I belive xsara had 3 different types of caliper ,
Would I be right in thinking that I am limited by what calipers I have?
Thanks all
new question on brakes.

You are not strictly speaking limited by Caliper manufacturer. Lucas, Brembo and others market components to fit equipment that they did not make themselves. So long as you have the accurate information regarding year, model and series if appropriate you should find the GSF offerings very suitable for conventional motoring use.
It is when you try to move upto competition products that problems could exist re matching caliper and pad etc.
So trust in the GSF reputation and go with either of the options. R

Thanks robin, but between the 3 makers, have 3 different types of pads I belive . some have guide springs top and bottom ( girling) and lucas have them in middle . So I now girling will not fit in the lucas calipers ,SO on the GSF website do the brembos fit into lucas calipers or the bosch ones fit .Or perhaps a local parts supply gave me the wrong ones, to me in first place and has made me wary.

Simon, this is getting very specific but generally fitting springs and or clips will be caliper specific too and they would not change with pads choice.
In case of doubt I would ring GSF mail order and discuss the fitment with them. They have a very good reputation to protect after all.
Local parts supply are not known for getting things right especially where Citroen are concerned! Good luck, Robin

Fitted new discs and pads from GSF (both Brembo) on to my Xsara VTR. I think you'll find that apart form the 2.0 ltrs and the 1.4 all the discs are the same size and vented. As for the pads theres only 2 different shaped pads. You'll more than likley have the 'Teeves' Caliper set up. This is the the only other make fitted on the Xsara. The Girling bit is who made them. So you'll have,
Front vented discs 266mm dia
ATE /Teeves FN 48 calipers.
In the event of your calipers being 'end of line' or 'cross over' then they'll be Lucas C54. Same pads though.
Hope this helps. Have found though that the GSF staff know their stuff so you should be OK just asking over the counter.
