how old is the car, looking at the picture you have supplied it looks like a 1990-91 model?.this engine and injection/fuel system was used in the citroen bx range.from what i can remember there is a small unit bolted to the drivers inner wing with a screw slot in it.this can be turned to lower the mixture.if the vehicle is fitted with a catalyst and lambda probe it will need to be checked with suitable diagnostic equipment.

Hi
405 with XU9J2 D6D engine & Bosch Motronic MP3.1
I notice you have an aftermarket airfilter fitted, Have you tried to adjust the mixture setting?
Also that brake fluid looks like it really wants changing!

The mixture adjustment screw is behind a tamperproof cap on the side of the airflow meter housing.
The idle speed adjusment screw doesnt have a cap over it & is on the top of the airflow meter housing.
Have you adjusted the correct screw?
