Key Fob Memory Question

Hi all, I didn't replace the batteries on my fob for a while after they had died (2 months). Now I have replaced them, the fob just lights up when I press either button and it doesn't lock/unlock the car or set the alarm. Will the lack of batteries for a while cause it to lose it's memory? Any ideas would be appreciated. Cheers

Tony, if you search across the forum for plip programmimg there are a couple links to other sites plus some information on programming. You will need to be sure which kind of plip you have, yours sounds like the infra red type. Does it have a little window near the key hinge on the plip? If so it is infra red. This window needs to be clear of dust and it needs to point into the window up toward the sensor in the car. Otherwise it's a radio signal and the programming is a different technique. Either way I am sure you will find and answer by searching the forum. Top right hand corner of the screen if you have not used it before. Good luck, Robin
