saxo gear knob

how do you get the gear knob off a
saxo 1.1 1999. is it left hand thread,
been trying with grips the thing not budging[:(]

its not threaded,its just a push on fit but its VERY tight,best way is to sit between both front seats pull up on it while twisting it from side to side.
