Sometimes when I switch the ignition on everything acts normal; I then enter in the security code into the keypad and get the green light. However when I try to turn the engine over nothing happens at all, it's totally dead. When I remove the key and repeat the procedure the keypad will automatically go green and the ignition still does nothing.
Sometimes the problem sorts its self out however if this takes too long I have to disconnect the battery for an hour and try again, which normally works.
The battery is fine and all the fuses are intact so I'm guessing it's the keypad. Can anyone think of a solution?
Will disconnecting the immobiliser fix it?? If so how do I do this?
Thanks

It is completely normal for the keypad not to need a code entered the second time - the keypad is almost certainly a red herring here, and nothing to do with the problem.
If you can hear the solenoid click when you turn the key I would guess its either the battery on the way out, a dodgy earth connection or positive connection to the battery, or perhaps a knackered starter motor.
As to why its ok if the battery is left disconnected, maybe there's something draining the battery, perhaps the boot light is staying on etc....

Sounds to me like you want a new battery, my current car was like this when I bought it, everything worked but wouldnt turn over, replaced battery and everything was ok. Also try cleaning the clamps on the battery leads, maybe a bad contact. Alternatively, if this dont solve your problem, id say the starter motor was kanckard. The immobiliser sounds perfectly normal to me.
