this is a common pipe to burst on a xantia,it will have burst around the small clamp that secures the pipe to the inner wing.it really needs to be repaired by somone who is familiar with citroens.the suspension runs at very high pressure!!.the pipe goes from the sphere on the drivers side, along the bulk head and connects under the black LHM tank on the passenger side.[:)]

This happened on my Xantia 3 yrs ago. I took it to a guy who's a cit specialist. He is one of the good uns and did the job for me for £80. He cut away the old pipe to below where its was leaking, (as tone said it a common fault from that clamp that holds it to the chassis) and put a join in and fashioned some metal piping back to the sphere. Very tidy and has n'er leaked!!
I was quoted £165 at a main dealer as was going to have to wait 3 days for them to get the part in!!

it might be easier and cheaper to take the pipe off and get a new one made to the same length, the pipe is 3.5mm in diameter not many garages can make this size brake pipe.there are plenty of xantias in scrap yards these days.you should be able to fix it your self if you know abit about cars etc[:)]

there is no way you can repair a pipe with any kind of bonding, i recently had to replace a hydraulic pipe it was only about £9.00 from the dealers they are not hard to change, just awkward.

I assume that is a question?
You gotta be joking! There is about 2400 PSI in there! [:(]
Don't bother with a secondhand one, either.
It is possible to replace part of a pipe, but you need the correct flaring tool to put the end on the original pipe. Have a look at www.pleiades.co.uk

You should also fit a new seal to each end as well- the pipe should be a straight remove and replace job but first support the car on axle stands so you can get to the bottom end, and depressurise the system.
When you put the new pipe on- don't overtighten!!!! The unions should only be done up with light hand pressure or the seals will be damaged and it'll leak.

This pipe is only £10.84 from Citroen, 5270EC, or GSF N65967 £9.20.

Hi!!!!
Two quickies for Jon the Admin chappie!!!
1) Can I use this pipe (GSF N65967) on my L reg 2.0i 8v ***still*** stuck at home with those pesky brakes? - I might as well check this as well just in case that's where some of my LHMs gone!!! What size are the union nuts so I can get the correct spanner, please?
2) Whilst checking the rest of it out I found no screenwash - trying to fill it up resulted in a jugful of screenwash over my trousers!!! Any tips for getting at the washer
bottle - do you have to remove the wing? - it ***looks*** like it!!!
Many thanks,
Chris

I can answer Q1
If your Rh top strut metal pipe has failed, then yes, you can use the N65967, they are the same on all Xantias. The nuts are 8mm or 9mm I believe.
