hi i just bought a saxo vtr engine to put into my 1.5d ax i've been told that the engine should just drop in and attach to my existing gear box is this true i've also been give the engine management system for the engine any more probs i might come across???

Hi, i've no idea if this engine is a straight swap, but i hope it is... there are going to be a few surprised people at the traffic lights !!

i think i might leave the badges on i know the vts ax will do a standing 1/4 mile in 14.4s

just had a thought.... the transmission will be geared for the diesel engine, so assuming acceleration doesn't suffer too much, it will have a colossal max speed too ! "all ahead warp nine, scotty!"

If i see this correctly with the diesel box you will have good acceleration but average top speed.

not alloud 2 do over 70mph in fear of losing driving licence to mr brunstrom of n.wales police anyway so top speed doesn't really matter i was told that the main prob i will have is the electronics and the wiring loom how r these different from saxo 2 ax???

the immobiliser may cause you problems depending if the VTR engine had a transponder or keypad imobiliser.do you know if the injection ecu is unlocked ?

can you find out which type of imobiliser it had keypad or transponder ? they changed to transponders on the mk1 when they changed the front grille.
