406 Central Locking

Can anyone please help with a central locking problem? My car is a 1999 406 1.8 LX and the central locking works intermittently (now hardly at all). I cannot find the sensor to check or should I be looking in another area? The Haynes manual is no help at all.

Hi, this is going to sound stupid, but are the batteries in the controller dead, if so you may be able to get a set from the pound shop.
